More Support Needed to Help UK Business Expand Globally to Sustain Economic Recovery

More needs to be done to help UK business expand globally, to help sustain recovery from the recession, according to a poll of 1,300 people.

A third of people polled said that organisations should get tax breaks to support exports, while a further third said that small companies should gain more export advice.

A last call for ideas for the next government accompanies the poll results. Over 800 ideas have been shared over the last five months, with less than 200 needed to reach the campaign’s target of 1,000 ideas on how to help retain jobs and create new ones, all of which will be formerly submitted to the next government.

James Reed, Founder of the Keep Britain Working campaign and Chairman of recruitment group Reed, says:

“Across the UK people believe that we need to look outward, to the global marketplace, to secure sustainable recovery. So we are calling for ideas on what must be done to help businesses take advantage of global markets.

“This is the last opportunity for people to contribute their idea to the '1,000 ideas for the next government', which will be presented to the new government after the election. Individuals, business leaders and opinion formers have already shared over 800 ideas on how the next government can help preserve and create jobs, to keep Britain working."
